A little bit about me:
Founder of UniBaggage.com I founded Uni Baggage in my student flat in Edinburgh, while studying structural engineering. Uni Baggage was born out of a problem I had at the start and end of each term. I had to move from Edinburgh back to Belfast every term with all my belongings. I had acquired quite a lot of stuff and got stung with excess baggage fees when flying home. I had also arranged to ship some stuff home, it took 2 weeks and was not cheap. Both options were expensive and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. After a bit of research I decided I could do something about this. It was a problem that many students, especially from N. Ireland had every term. I arranged contracts with couriers firms and hired a web developer, within a few months http://www.unibaggage.com was live and taking bookings In the early days of Uni Baggage it was very much a one man band. I was still at university studying for my degree and managing the business in my free time. I was able to juggle that for 2 years until I graduated. I was determined that I would finish my degree and not drop out. Once I had finished university I was able to focus full time on the business. I moved back to Belfast and got an office in the Titanic Quarter. I hired staff and focused on marketing the business. Back in Belfast we were able to double turnover every year and we were awarded UK micro business of the year by Smarta. We are shortly to expand into 220 countries worldwide. We have come a long way from my bedroom in Edinburgh and I am only getting started.Where I'm at:
