Let’s face it - we are all more aware than ever of the importance of ethical eating. We know that what we choose to eat doesn’t just have an impact on our health, but also has a huge impact on the environment. Of course whilst we may have the best intentions and vow to eat and purchase ethically at all times, it is not always that simple.Recognising this, our latest startup of the week have created an app which will solve this very problem.
Evocco is an “eco-friendly shopping assistant that helps you find the most nutritious food for the lowest environmental impact”.
Here’s how it will works:
Simply take a pic of your food shopping receipt and then Evocco will provide you with the impact of those food purchases. You’ll get info on the carbon footprint of the product as well as details on nutrition. You’ll also receive tips on how you can ensure your purchases are more environmentally friendly.
In essence it aims to empower us all to make more informed decisions about what we are buying and thereby help us to minimise the environmental impact that those purchases have.
Whether you are embracing Veganuary for the first time or have vowed to make this the year that you become a more conscious consumer, then Evocco is for you.
The app will officially launch during 2019 but the good news is that you can sign up to be a beta tester right now. So go on then..what are you waiting for!
