Beginners’ Top tips on using LinkedIn for business
by Startacus Admin
Be Active
So, if perhaps you have joined 25 groups and 5 or 6 of them are really relevant to your startup; the most obvious thing to do, is to talk to other members of those groups on a regular basis. Comment on their articles and postings, share opinions and thoughts; network. The power of LinkedIn is that it gives you the chance to network with people that you would otherwise be unaware of or unconnected with. If you are networking with people that are relevant for your business startup, it can only be a good thing for building up contacts, potential clients and an online reputation that will serve you well in the offline world.
Post Relevant Content
If you have a business startup that benefits from building online traffic to your website, LinkedIn can be great for attracting regular numbers to your site. Apart from the obvious, adding your website address as part of your personal profile, the more direct approach would be to share any relevant articles, blog posts or top tip posts with any relevant groups that you are part of. After you have posted your article on your website, simply copy the URL. When in a LinkedIn Group, add the URL link to start a discussion by sharing the article with your fellow group members. LinkedIn is not protective of links taking you off their site and for that reason any member that clicks on your article link, will be taken directly to the article on your own site. By driving traffic to your site, you may find that some of them stick around for a while to have a nosey at what exactly you and your website does!
Of course you may find that LinkedIn can help your startup in other ways too - Oh, and while we are on the case - please do join the Startacus Linkedin Group!
